An Update of the Golf Course
As luck would have it, I was called for Jury Duty on Monday. I had never been called upon for Jury Duty, nor do I wish to ever be called again. They called my name second, and I just about shit. I was thinking I would be able to breeze in and out without a worry. I was able to get out of it, by talking to the judge, but it was still very intense.
This trip to Smithers gave me another glimpse of the Golf Course. I could not believe the difference the weekend made. Most of the water is gone and now it looks like a brown silty mess. But the one thing is now there is some water where there never was water before. The owner has only had the golf course for 11 months and I doubt he'll open up again this season for the bottom half. They are still golfing up top.
Golf Anyone?
This is the Par 3 Golf Course in Smithers last Friday. It was really unbelievable. We drove to see it and I'm sure glad we did. I have never seen it like this. There was a lot of flooding around the area. Some homes were evacuated - but it has been downgraded to a flood watch now. It was bound to happen with the amount of snow we had this year. They say there is still 70 % of the snow pack left to melt, so I'm afraid the worst may not be over. They are predicting we will have high water for at least 3 more weeks. We've been lucky in Houston this year - not that we live where our house would flood, but others have been lucky.

Rub A Dub Dub ...
Here's a recent shot of the kids in the bathtub. They were pretty excited that sister was sitting up and having a bath with them. The novelty of this quickly wore off when they wanted to play, and she was taking their toys. Our little miss is 8 months old already - oh where does the time go - before I know it I will be back at work! :(

As Kids See It
Last year, we decided that our kids needed a pet, and we chose a guinea pig. Clayton was in charge of naming our pet, and he quickly decided on "Oinky". Now we soon discovered that we are in fact not rodent people and the guinea pig became a royal pain ... He proceded to eat all of the lettuce and veggies that a person could throw in the cage. This winter became rather long, and one night Oinky mysteriously ran away. No one seemed to notice for quite some time and when they did were not bothered by this at all. Just the other day while driving home from school, Clayton wondered if a raccoon had gobbled up Oinky yet. I said "pardon me" and he repeated his thought. I said "I'm not too sure why?" He proceeded to explain that it was just a matter of time before Oinky would be gobbled up and he was just wondering if it had happened yet.

Discovered this neat poll about driving style and I thought I'd share. I'm interested to find out how you rate. Here is my driving score. Click on the link below to take the quiz. Have Fun!
Your Driving Is is: 54% Male, 46% Female |
According to studies, you drive both like a guy and a girl. This means you're a pretty average driver, with typical quirks. Occasionally you're frustrated and or a little reckless, but that's the exception - not the norm. |
